With Sydney and other parts of NSW in the grip of the latest Covid lockdown, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find subjects which are accessible for photography.
Here is a little portfolio of shots I made with the RF 24-104mm f4-7.1 STM kit lens on the Canon EOS R5.
This is not a bad kit lens although some perfectionists would say it is wasted on the high pixel R5.
The main problem I have with the lens is the unusual distribution of the field of image sharpness. This leaves the edges soft unless small apertures are used and is problematic with landscapes which can easily be left with soft lower corners.
It is OK for general photography throughout the focal length range and is quite good at the long end where it can be used effectively for half macro close-ups. Autofocus is fast and the stabiliser effective.
