Good morning Mr Fooji-pokit I see you are presenting a new camera model today.
Yes this is the all-new Fooji-X-pokit camera which we think buyers will really like.
Why is that ?
Because owners can fit the new camera into a pocket, if they have one large enough.
Why did you decide to do this design ?
Well, I am on the pokit team and we got an internal email from the boss instructing us to design a brand new camera which could fit into a pocket. So we did just that and we are very proud of what we have managed to achieve.
OK, what exactly have you managed to achieve ?
Just what the boss ordered, a camera which fits into a pocket. A kind of largish pocket but still, a pocket.
Did you have to make any compromises to usability in order to achieve this ?
Well the memo from head office didn’t say anything about usability so we weren’t really concerned about that.
Maybe another department had that job. Come to think of it though, I am not at all sure we actually have a usability department. Not that I have noticed at staff meetings anyway.
I see the new X-Pokit camera as presented has no handle, no thumb support, no EVF eyepiece extension and no lens.
Ah, you noticed these details, yes you are correct.
What about owners who want to hold the camera in addition to putting it in a pocket ? They might imagine a handle and thumb support could be a good idea.
Well yes, absolutely. However I believe the handle and thumb team have developed a special bolt-on handle and a special clip-on thumb support just for this model.
But these have to be purchased separately, yes ?
Yes, yes of course.
Why not simply incorporate the handle and thumb support into the body in the first place ?
Because it would then be difficult to fit in a pocket, you see. The whole point of this camera is to be able to fit it into a pocket.
What about taking photos ? Presumably the camera cannot take photos without a lens ?
Indeed, very perceptive. But you see the memo from the boss said nothing about being able to take photos so our team was not concerned about that detail.
What is Fooji-boss doing to meet the needs of people who might actually want to make photos with their camera?
Ah yes, I’m glad you asked that question, very good. You see Fooji-corp is also this very day announcing another new camera which can take really good photos. This is the Fooji-super-X-Bigma-100S. It can certainly make photos but you won’t fit it into any pocket I have ever seen.
Are you suggesting that buyers should get one camera to fit in a pocket and a much larger and very much more expensive one for making pictures ?
Wow ! great idea ! I had not thought of that. Of course you are right. I will send off a memo to our marketing people right away.
