There is a lot of native heath and bush in and around Sydney and most of it is bursting with wildflowers in winter and spring.  These often thrive in the most improbable habitats, with thin, sandy soils exposed to the elements.

In the not-so-good-old-days of 35mm film it would take me about 30 minutes to set up for a flower photo, with tripod, macro lens and light shapers.

Now with the M50 and EF-M 18-150mm lens I can do it in 30 seconds, hand held, usually without flash.  With the focal length at 60mm the close up field of view is 60mm wide in landscape orientation.

And the results are often better.

Here are some pictures from a recent walk on Bangalley head on Sydney's Northern beaches.

The EF-M 18-150mm is so versatile I can switch in a moment from close-ups to landscape to moving subjects, even birds in flight although the M50 is a bit slow for the latter, with a low keeper rate.
